Stella Filler dances to a tune of her own. With over 50 years experience of miming,  Stella started out by giving lectures and workshops when she came to America. She also directed mime performances at Stanford University, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, College of Notre Dame, Stanbridge Academy in Palo Alto and the South Peninsula Hebrew Day school. She created her own dance troupe, Pianomime, and performed with them around the Bay Area. She served on the Ph.D committee of the graduate school of theology at Berkley, demonstrating for a graduate student who chose to explore mime in ancient religion as his thesis.

When she was deeply in the world of professional mime that Stella began to incorporate Jewish themes into her art. As a religious woman, she was much sought after as a performer for women events, especially once she skillfully wove beautiful Jewish content into her shows. As soon as her ‘Jewish’ performances become known, she was invited to perform at many a Bat Mitzvah, Shabbos Kallah or Rosh Chodesh group. She quickly gained fame as the world’s only ‘Kosher Mime’.

She created a variety of powerful mimes on various Jewish subjects, weaving them together with humor, excitement and sentimental moments.

Stella's creativity balances the seriousness of Torah and Jewish humor; and empowers others to seize their innate talents.

Enjoy a lively perspective of Jewish life through mime. Kosher Mime can perform in synagogues, schools, camps and conferences for Jewish women and girls. Stella is also available for personal coaching/training.
